DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Responsible for developing story ideas, shooting, writing, reporting and editing news stories and video on a daily basis. Reporter will cover stories for a state-wide local cable news network. Research ideas using contacts, the itnernet, and other media sources. Write & edit news stories using linear and non-linear edit systems. Deliver on-air stories, including live reports and breaking news coverage, demonstrating energy, confidence, professional apearance and voice quality.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university in Journalism, Communications or related field. Prior television news experience required. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

REQUIREMENTS FOR HIRING (min age, education, drug test, skills
testing):
Adhere to established journalistic ethics, standards and practices. Understand audio & visual elements to be able to include in packages. Ability to organize and present factual information that captures and maintains the viewer's interest and is easy to understand. Work independently; ability to secure interviews, and footage information to develop story packages and vosots. Must maintain positive image when dealing with the public. Possess thorough knowledge of events, issues, and newsmakers in assigned markets and beats. Possess thorough knowledge of television news gathering and story production. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well in fast paced environment and meet deadlines. Have a valid NC driver's license and a good driving record. Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 30 pounds.
